A House With No Walls is an engrossing drama which spans over
200 years and features black and white characters with a wide
range of political points of view. The characters Thomas
Gibbons creates here are more than just political stereotypes.
Director Ben Guillory does fine work, and has assembled a
talented cast, headed by Hugh Dane who brings fire and passion
to his role of a older black activist. Toyin Moses gives a
particularly moving performance as an 18th century slave, and
Maurice McRae is equally good as her brother. Darin Dahms does
believable work as the love interest of African American
Conservative Cadence. Kellie Roberts is so good, so classy,
articulate, and even sympathetic as Cadence that it is jarring
to hear her stumble over many lines. As both political drama and
history lesson, A House With No Walls is well worth seeing.
